Community exchange
Beach clean
Every morning, our marine staff cleans up the beach. As part of MICE, our guests also contribute to the local community by cleaning up the beach. We will continue to protect Meijo Beach and its natural environment, which has long been loved by the local community.
Harley
On May 5th of the lunar calendar, an event called "Hari, Hari" is held, where people pray to the gods for a good catch and safe voyages, and dragon boat races are held. Every year, the hotel participates in the Itoman Hari and Meijo Hari. The staff practice in between work, strengthening their bond and helping to liven up this traditional local event.
Initiatives to protect nature
Ryukyu Hotel & Resort Meijo Beach is located within a national park.
It is a beautiful place with a rich natural environment.
In order to protect this precious environment, we are working to protect sea turtles, hermit crabs,
We are working to protect animals such as snowy plovers.
Especially during sea turtle nesting season, we take measures such as turning off the balcony lights in the guest rooms.
This is when the baby turtles head to the sea by moonlight.
This is to prevent them from being fooled by artificial lighting and coming onto land.
In addition, in areas where spawning has been confirmed, protective guards have been set up to keep the eggs safe, and staff are watching over them.
We will continue to engage in conservation activities to ensure that the natural environment of Meijo Beach is passed on to future generations.
